Rating; Unknown, but Circus-related body horror in many threads

Summary; Bruce has ended up treating several of the Circus' victims and now they're cluttering up his lab and apartment. Open post for people to visit Luke, Serrure, and Asami or pester Bruce (and possibly Sif)

Bruce's lab and apartment hadn't been intended as a makeshift hospital ward, but there they were. He'd set Asami up in his bedroom and Luke and Serrure were still kept in separate rooms to keep their magnetism from dragging their wounded bodies back together.

He's immediately available by network, but at the moment he's in his kitchen brewing up some chamomile tea. More accurately the water's heating and he has his forehead pressed against the stainless steel door of his fridge.

[ It's a great comfort knowing the warrior is still hanging around. ]

I've sent them a message, they'll be along soon. Do you know Sif very well?

I don't know anyone here very well, but she's a friend of someone I briefly knew back home, and I think she's my friend now.

She definitely is, it's obvious she trusts you implicitly. [ Quashing any awkwardness, her smile resurfaces. ] It's easy to understand why.

[Given that it's bad bedside manner to convince his patient not to trust him, he doesn't argue, even though he's inclined to.]

Don't make me give you homework to keep you occupied.

[ Her smile widens as she leans forward to touch the back of his closest hand. ]

But you're so much more better company than homework.

[he covers her hand with his free hand]

I can keep you company until I need to check in on Loki and Serrure.

[ Well, then. Much easier to just hold his hand altogether. ]

How are they? You seem to be running yourself ragged over all of us.

They're holding up. Serrure isn't taking it well. He's a kid in a lot of ways and what's been done to him...

[his grip tightens fractionally then loosens]

[ Her fingers squeeze his own, running lightly over his palm with a soothing gesture. ]

He'll need stability more than anything, someone to lean on. I feel protective of a boy called Dave, he's just a kid even with half the things he comes out with.

Just be there for him and Serrure will be so much better off, I promise you that.

[he snorts softly]

I don't really like him, to be honest.

[ Grinning, a pat chastising that. ]

You don't have to like him to do something nice for the kid.

It's not like I cut him loose from my friend and then gave him a spanking. I'll take care of him, even if I don't much like him.

I never said you wouldn't. I'm sure he wants to stay with you.

I wouldn't make him leave Luke. They have a bond. [Not outing Luke as a Loki. That's Luke's job and choice.]

It's usually the habit of people as young as that to say exactly what they want without censoring against anyone's feelings. If he wanted to leave, then he would. As it stands, things are okay.

[ She squeezes his fingers just enough to draw his attention. ]

Are you alright, Bruce? You're taking care of us, but who's taking care of you?

[He smiles a little at her first comment; Serrure's only five years younger than she is by some reckoning.]

I'm okay. Sif even brought me coffee this morning. How many men can say a war goddess brings them coffee?

[ Five years and a lifetime away. Annnd sliding her hand off his own now. ]

Not many, I'd imagine. That was kind of her.

[He gives her hand a last pat and straightens.]

Yeah, it was. I'd say she needs taking care of too, but I don't think she'd appreciate that.

Maybe do something nice for her. [ Hmmm. ] She's a lot like Korra, so ... give her a chance to use her abilities and enjoy it. That's what I'd try and arrange. Feeling appreciated has got to be a huge compliment to someone of her prowess.

I cooked her breakfast and we're having a movie night if things ever stop being so horrible. [wait, how did that sound?] I cooked her breakfast after she brought me coffee.

[ Smiling mildly, she arches a brow. ]

Sounds like you have everything sorted.

[Oh don't even.]

If you're getting that same gleam your eye that Luke gets when a woman comes up, don't.

[ Oho, Luke is perceptive. ]

Shouldn't I?

[Luke just wants to get him laid and doesn't much care with whom.]

No, you shouldn't. This is the last place I'd want to start a relationship of any kind even if I didn't have my condition.
