Summary; Finals are over, the spring dance is here--finally a way for everyone, student and teacher, to relax! All the planning, preparation, and hard work has paid off. Students of all ages and grades are invited, and their teachers are sure to be there too. The school superintendents (read: the Deities) have done their very best to light up the Square. So whether you're from Westerberg High, Trinity Girls' School, Cutler's, Bikini Bottom Middle, or City U, you must have received your engraved invitation by now. Dress is formal, but the occasion is celebratory. Come one, come all. (And even those who aren't cursed may still come to take in the decorations, the food, the entertainment, and the merriment... or they can take pictures for blackmail when this is over.) So come and spend an evening under the stars...

PE is always so annoying to Rita when she'd rather be studying science and doing experiments. Tonight, though, she came with the full intention of partying, and Tyr's grin makes her feel suddenly light--impulsively, she reaches out to poke his nose, with a playful "good enough for you?"

It gives him a start and he almost backs away, but- What? Did she really just...

He laughs after a second and goes in to pinch her side. He knows she skipped a few grades, but she's such a kid!

Tyr's such a kid, too! Rita yelps and grabs his hand, then takes the opportunity to try and spin him with the music, just because.

[blackshadow]

...Well, it's a little awkward to be spun around by someone shorter than him, but be obliges, spinning around while he laughs some more.

"You're such a kid."

[negativegate]

"Huh?" She blushes, indignant, and spins him again with a huff. "Like you're one to talk!"

[blackshadow]

He spins again, too, and tries to give her a twirl. "I'm not talking."

[negativegate]

She goes along with the movement, and starts to find that being annoyed with Tyr while they're dancing is...kind of hard. "Then what do you call it, huh?"

[blackshadow]

"Stating the obvious."

And Tyr just wants to tease her a little. She's a lot of fun to dance with...

"Like saying you're a good dancer."

[negativegate]

Now he's just making her more smug, and she responds with, "You're damn right I'm good!"

Another spin, and maybe as an afterthought or because she sort of wants to reciprocate, she adds, "And you're not bad, I guess."

"You're not going to give me a big head by being honest." She's a lot of fun to dance with, smug or not.

[negativegate]

"Sure about that?" And she's just teasing now. The atmosphere and the dancing--it's all really loose and exciting, even more than she thought. Maybe it's Tyr.

[blackshadow]

"I'm positive." He doesn't have any regrets about choosing to take her. He knew she was fun to joke with, but it's really fun now.

[negativegate]

"I don't know. You're already pretty confident." She feels like she could dance the night away with Tyr. Not a bad end to the year at all.

[blackshadow]

"What's wrong with confidence?" Definitely not a bad way. She's a lot of fun to dance with herself, too.

[negativegate]

"It might give you a big head, remember?" Just to send his words back at him. She's smiling the whole time, though.

[blackshadow]

"And I said it wouldn't." Just to remind her, too.

...In the back of his head, he wonders if he could pick her up and spin her. She looks small enough.

[negativegate]

"We haven't put it to the test, you know." She grins at him, hand on her hip even as she continues to move with the music. She can't remember the last time she had this much fun dancing.

[blackshadow]

"Then what are you waiting for? I thought you liked testing things."

She looks like she's having fun, too - though since he's having fun, that could be colouring his perception.

[negativegate]

"Are you volunteering to be an experiment?"

So much fun. She laughs a little now.

[blackshadow]

"Just this once- I plan on trying something on you, too."

[negativegate]

Although she keeps dancing, that makes her blink at him, curious. "Huh? What do you mean?"

[blackshadow]

He explains plainly and nonchalantly, "I have a theory and I want to test it."

[negativegate]

Oh, he's so trying to dance around it. She keeps right on dancing, responding, "Hmph! So test it."

[blackshadow]

And dancing around her. He grins and puts his hands on her waist. "Then with your permission—"

He'll try picking her up and spinning with her!

[negativegate]

"Huh? Hey-" She starts to turn, and then out comes a surprised little squeak when he picks her up. The surprise only lasts a second, though, and before she knows it, she's laughing at him. "This is your experiment?"
