tampered | (no subject)

He sets the tray down and looks to pick up the bottle. He takes a swig before removing the top of the tray.

"Hungry?"

"A bit," she responds which is really only a half truth. She is starving after all that activity. She attempts to perk up and swallow her jealously before looking at the tray.

"It does look good."

"Certainly does."

He smiles and settles back in the bed next to her. He's completely unaware of how the scene at the door looked to her, but is glad to see she's enjoying the meal.

She picks at the food as she eats not really looking at him. Really she can't stop thinking about how that other woman was looking at him.

She's bothered.

He notices she seems upset about something. Perhaps he should have ordered something else? More to drink?

"Everything alright?" he asks.

"Yeah. It's okay." She is still not looking at him though. "Chatty server, yeah?"

"Kind of. Probably hoping for a tip."

He looks down at himself and sees what she may be getting at.

"Ohhhhhhh. Riiiiiiight. Probably should have gotten more fully dressed."

This is when she looks at him with a look. "Might've helped a bit." Not that she wants to think what the other woman was thinking. "It's alright though. I mean she's gone now." It was a matter of fact.

"Sorry. So sorry."

He probably should have thought about that a little better before he went to the door.

She picks at the food a little more. "It's okay. I probably should've answered it." Does she forgive him? Of course she does.

He looks a bit sheepish, but decides to try and change the subject.

"I think Mickey would have made a better maid of honor."

That's a mental image that makes the blonde laugh. Oh he would have just been thrilled to be a bridesmaid. "He'd probably complain about the dress colour." She says jokingly. "Though I reckon it would be a bit awkward." Well considering that she had dated him for a while before falling for the Doctor.

"He would complain."

He thinks about telling her that Mickey found someone else, but decides against it. That would lead to too many awkward questions.

"I can just picture it too, you know." She reaches down to pluck a chip from the plate and offer it over to him.

He takes the chip.

"That would be worthy of several photographs, wouldn't it?"

"Several hundred'" she says jokingly before eating a chip. "Mum would have been a sobbing mess."

The mention of the heinous Jackie Tyler makes him roll his eyes.

"She would have gotten lost on the way, I think."

"Maybe. We would have had to have given her a map." She contemplates this for a moment before just laughing. Because really it would be like her mum to do that.

"Welllllll, yeaaaaaaaaah...Probably."

Of course it would have been the wrong map. He'd make sure of that.

"Would probably have to give her directions via mobile," she says with a grin before going back to the food.

That would be fine as long as he was giving the directions. With luck, she would have ended up in Glasgow.

"Fortunately, I'm good with directions."

"No you're not. Not always," she reminds him able to think of a few times that he's gotten them lost and then claimed the TARDIS was at fault.

"I am too."

Yeah, he would make sure Jackie ended up on the other side of the country and then silence the mobile. He grins at the thought.

"What about when we were going to that concert with the Beatles and ended up at a dance hop?" She gives him a bemused look still wondering what he is going to say to that.

"That was not my fault."

Which is true. The TARDIS has her moments.
