tampered | (no subject)

The choices at first cause her to make a face. But soon enough she's dancing slowly with him amazed that she's keeping up. She rests her head on his shoulder and sighs contently.

He continues to lead her as the music plays. Her sigh brings a small smile to his face. At least she's content.

A part of her wonders if he's happy with this. Really he was not the sort of bloke that would settle down or so she thought. She continues to follow his lead.

The music finally comes to an end, and he stops as it does.

"Well? How was that?" he asks.

Rose just beams at him.

"Amazing!" And it really was.

"Good."

He looks at the group, who have definitely resumed their card game.

"More to drink?" he asks. "Or...what next?"

Rose glances over at the group making the same observation.

"Honeymoon?" she smirks.

She said it, not him, he thinks to himself. He's about to agree, but something about the card game catches his eye.

"Ohhhhh, he's cheating I think," he says to Rose.

Rose looks over at his other self but really doesn't see it.

"How can you tell?" He looks perfectly normal."

"He's me, remember?"

He saw his other self slip a card from out of his sleeve, but decides not to alert anyone.

"So you cheat all the time?" she questions making a mental note not to play cards with him.

"No! Welllllll, sometimes. Only to make it interesting."

He decides to change the subject before she gives him the third degree on card playing.

"Have I told you where we'll be going?"

She gives him a look.

But then it passes and she shakes her head. He hasn't really said now has he and now she is curious.

"No, not really. You're gonna actually tell me?"

He could tell her, or he could not. Decisions, decisions. Either way, she'll like where they're going.

"If you'd like."

She really would like to be surprised.

"Nah, it's fine."

He shrugs.

"Welllllll, yeaaaaaah," he says. "I mean it would spoil the surprise if I told you I used psychic paper to book us some place swanky."

He can't take her to the TARDIS just yet. He has to see how this goes over with the old girl.

"Swanky?" she repeats and wonders where exactly they will be going.

"That's a bit different," she grins and wonders again.

"Yeah. Nothing wrong with different, right?"

He gives her a reassuring grin. She had better like it, since he needed a lot of concentration to get the psychic paper to pass.

"Nothing at all," she says in agreement. Still she just can't believe it. She's actually married to him now.

"Think we should leave them to it?"

He indicates the card-playing group. They seem to be enjoying themselves a bit. However, the Doctor picks up the bottle with the odd color liquid.

She reaches over to grab his hand. "I think that we should," she grins.

He grins back and leads her the way they came. At least he knows the way this time. He indicates the bottle.

"This should serve as a nice party favor," he says as they walk.

A glance at the bottle.

"That's what we had on New Years wasn't it?" It does look very familiar. She continues to walk close beside him.

He nods, and detects a slight hint of concern.

"Yeah," he replies, looking at her. "Ohhhhh, don't worry. We won't be like we were then."

"No hangovers, then?" She grins remembering that night and how smashed they got.
